Papier Mache Dragonfly is back up! Yay!
This is a screencast about searching for images for your art. In the old days when i was cartooning i would have to create something called a Morgue. Basically a morgue was a file folder where i kept clippings (from magazines and newspapers) and photocopies from books. I’d have things catergorized such as “animals, people, machinery, nature, toys, politicians etc.” Then i would refer to the file whenever i needed an image of something. Since i was creating so many polical cartoons i had a file for politicians that i had mostly clipped from business magazines and newspapers. Today things are WAY simpler as you can rely on “Google Image Search” to find anything you could possibly want.
Yesterday Mr. G put the dragonfly up again. It had been down for over 3 months (we took it down to have the house painted but also to revamp it as it was peeling and coming apart). Anyways it felt very strange not having our little sentinel up on the Magic Cottage protecting it. Folks kept asking where the dragonfly was and when it was going back up. On Halloween night several folks asked about the dragonfly. I think the children especially enjoy it. Today i’ll be working on a video based on revamping the dragonfly. Hopefully it will be finished by tomorrow!
WOW, I can’t imagine taking on creating something of that size! He’s wonderful and I’m looking forward to the video about mending his broken places. No wonder people ask about him, he’s very impressive!

Hey Violette…your dragonfly video is one of my faves. I love that you make such an impact on your community! I know that I could feel how amazing your magic cottage feels in the videos…how amazing that everything you are touches passersby in such a significant way.
