A bit of this and that, an art journal sketch

Happy Wednesday everyone!

My apologies for not blogging on Monday – it was a holiday here in B.C.

I don’t have too much going on here right now.  My Mom fell down and hit her head so I ended up spending some time in the hospital with my Mom and Stepdad over the weekend.  My Mom has vertigo and lost her footing. Thankfully she didn’t have a stroke which the Doctor was concerned about. Also I’m so happy she didn’t break any bones as she has osteoporosis. You might recall she broke her arm about 3 months ago.

pointroberts

Yesterday after visiting my Mom, Stepdad, daughter and grandson Cillian i went to Point Roberts, Washington to pick up a parcel.  I decided to go to the ocean for a 1/2 hour as a treat since i was so close by.  I always love dipping my toes in the water.  It feels so great on my feet and the negative ions from the water makes my spirit happy!

Here’s a view of the water.  So serene! The rocks all around me were so pretty – i picked up a few to paint on at a later date.

How lucky am i? My friend Tina Ferguson sent me this lovely crystal lamp as a birthday gift (that’s what i went to Point Roberts to pick up).  It looks so wonderful at night in the Sanctuary! Thank you Tina!

guides_sketch

Inspired by Teesha Moore and her Spirit Guide journal page I decided to try my hand at giving my guides a face too. I’m always afraid to do that since i feel I won’t get it right. Really? What does it matter if it’s not right? So this is the start of the page……just at the sketching stage.

unicorn

Even though i don’t really draw animals since i’m not so great at it I decided to practise sketching a unicorn.  Be prepared to see a unicorn appear in one of my art journal pages!

See you on Friday!

Love, Violette xo

Love you little unicorn . . . I’m more of a pegasus fan. It’s a legacy of having lived in Pegasus Bay for a time as a child . . . can you imagine my delight in finding out that THAT was where I was on the map?

    Hi there
I am new to your blog but I have watched your You Tube videos and adore them. Love all your beautiful work. So sorry your Mom fell and hurt herself. I am glad she is okay. I also have vertigo, I have struggled with it since I was 15 years old. Does she take anything for it? I would love to know if anything has worked on her. Hope to hear from you
    The beach pictures were gorgeous

Hi Deezie – thanks for watching my videos and for your kind words. Sorry about your vertigo as well…..i hear it’s pretty awful. My Mom was taking an anti-nausea drug for the nausea. When she got to the hospital the doctor did this procedure to bring up the crystal in her ear…….he made her like on her back with her head hanging over the edge of the bed. She had her eyes open and she was supposed to move her head from side to side while keeping them open. I think Mom said that helped her with the vertigo. Maybe you could ask your Doctor about it?

Love your beach feet story and your salt lamp. I got one as a gift for my Birthday in July as well. Now, I need the ocean! Will look for the animal art! You are a joy!

Thank you Sara. Glad you like the beach story! So nice you received the lamp as well. I found out later it’s a Selenite lamp which is supposed to help you with mental clarity. Cool eh? I hope you get to the ocean soon – do you live near an ocean?

I live near the ocean and many nice beaches in my little hide away second home, Nags Head, NC, Virginia Beach, Va., etc About 1 hr or under. And in my home I could do Ocean City, Md, Delaware and others in about 3hrs. Now, I go often but don’t take the time for the foot massage/therapy. My thinking to busy. But, seeing your feet in the natural has given be the desire to stop and dip the feet and enjoy the ocean breezes. I grew up by the ocean and lived with my children there each and every summer until they left for college. Sad to say, but one can even take the ocean as a chore and lose sight of it’s joy and healing benefits. Your art has a way of focusing the busy mind to see the authentic! Thanks!
