“Be who you are” Art Journal page

This is the finished Dr. Seuss art Journal page i began yesterday.  I think it turned out quite nicely in a chaotic sort of way Smile!

Here are some of the collage elements before gluing together.  As you can see in the end i added a lot more bits and bobs.  There is a piece of corrugated cardboard from a coffee cup warmer, a rose from a paper napkin and hand drawn and coloured elements.

Close-up shot of the page.

Supplies used: Substrate ā€“ cardstock, gesso, acrylic paints, pencil crayons, water colour pencil crayons, inktense pencils, pencil, highlighters, paper napkin, Sharpie, micron pens, corrugated cardboard, tissue paper, Sharpie poster paint pen.

See you tomorrow!

Love the page! The colours, the writing, the girl and the hat šŸ™‚

Do you know where I can find Inktense blocks here? I’ve looked in Michaels, Opus, and DeSerres, but alas…Michaels only has the pencils.

gosh – i didn’t even know about the Inktense blocks? If they don’t have them at Opus which would be my first choice i would think you’d have to order them online. Did you ask Opus if they could order some in for you? I’ll bet you’re not the only one inquiring!

      Love, Violette

Oh! That makes sense! I didn’t even think of asking any one of the stores for help šŸ˜€ Thank you!

Inktense blocks are supposed to be fabulous, as you can use the whole length for covering huge spaces, but still use the corners for any more detailed colouring or writing.
