Yesterday i created a video about my 2013 Bliss Calendar so that you could get a peek into it! I’m very proud of this calendar and it’s inspirational pages! I even think the illustrations are so nice that you could frame them. Even though i am not selling them on my blog this year you can find them in some stationary stores or bookstores. But if you can’t find them there you can order them directly from Brush Dance. The Bliss Calendar would make a lovely Holiday gift for a friend or family – or what the heck – you could even treat yourself!
Magic Cottage on TV!
Remember a while ago there was a TV crew here shooting at the Magic Cottage? Well the episode will be appearing this Thursday (tomorrow) on Shaw TV Go Vancouver! I’m so excited to see the segment! I hope you can watch it live – if not there will be a replay where I’ll post the video segment here on my blog!
A Touching Hurricane Sandy Story
Over on Jenny’s blog (Every Day is a Holiday) you can read a very touching story about How Hurricane Sandy has affected Jenny and the folks who live in the Jersey Shore. Jenny and Aaron are asking for your help – financially – everything in their store is 20% off – use the sale code XONEWJERSEY if you would like to buy something.
The damage to the Jersey Shores is horrific and it will take a long time for life to return to normal. Sending everyone lots of love xo

Finally the art journal page is completed! I hope you like it – i made it for Juliana – the winner of my Gemini Birthday Contest giveaway. The face in this video was created in a previous youtube video so do check it out as well. In this video i create a small shrink art charm to add to the journal page. I hope you like it!
Okay so I’m off on holidays however i will be periodically posting blogs and photos for you to see! I’ll be kayaking, hiking, soaking in the sun and enjoying the quiet of the Sunshine Coast! Back in two weeks!
Take care – have a great weekend.

Finally – after much trial and tribulation and computer crashing the video is done! Hooray – i hope you like it. How to draw faces was the most requested tutorial by YOU! Next time I’ll incorporate this face into a journal page.
In this video I show you how I most often create faces from start to finish. I begin by drawing in pencil and then ink it in with microns. Next I move on to copic markers and water colour pencil crayons. Then I activate the pencil crayons with water to give it a painterly affect. This face will be used in an art journal page which I’ll be creating in the next video. I mostly create art journal or mixed media pieces and this is usually how I begin. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think and if you have any questions at all!
Here are the supplies used:
copic markers, water colour pencil crayons, micron pens, pencils, sharpie poster paint pen, signo white pen, derwent sketching pencil
Just to let you know I won’t be blogging tomorrow – I have a fun day planned with my sister Linda so I’ll see you on Monday! Have a lovely weekend!
