Face Drawing Tutorial

Finally – after much trial and tribulation and computer crashing the video is done!  Hooray – i hope you like it.  How to draw faces was the most requested tutorial by YOU!  Next time I’ll incorporate this face into a journal page.

In this video I show you how I most often create faces from start to finish.  I begin by drawing in pencil and then ink it in with microns.  Next I  move on to copic markers and water colour pencil crayons. Then I activate the pencil crayons with water to give it a painterly affect. This face will be used in an art journal page which I’ll be creating in the next video.   I mostly create art journal or mixed media pieces and this is usually how I begin. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think and if you have any questions at all! Smile

Here are the supplies used:
copic markers, water colour pencil crayons, micron pens, pencils, sharpie poster paint pen, signo white pen, derwent sketching pencil

Just to let you know I won’t be blogging tomorrow – I have a fun day planned with my sister Linda so I’ll see you on Monday! Have a lovely weekend!

Love, Violette xo

Great video, Violette! You make it look so easy! I wish that your camera was closer to the page so that we could see your details easier…

Thanks Shannon – i did move it closer at one point – i didn’t know where my remote was and i had to keep stepping ontop of my kitchen counter to change the setting – that can be a bit freaky. I found the remote now so the next time i’ll do that.
      Thanks for the feedback.

Excellent tutorial. Are “watercolor pencil crayons” the same as “watercolor pencils”? Also, what kind of paper did you use or is it card stock?
