Tie dyeing with toddlers and Gratitude

Tie Dyeing Adventures

Last Friday I had a craft day with my grandson’s Toby 2 and Sam 4 years old. I decided to do tie dyeing with them. Perhaps they were a wee bit too young for that craft. We had fun nonetheless. We used Tulip’s tie dye set – it’s a one step dye process which i like – the easier the better.  You just mix water in the squeeze bottle (dye powder is already in it), shake and apply the dye.  little Toby who is a natural born crafter didn’t even wait for me to finish the demo on how to do it.  He grabbed one of the squeeze bottles and proceeded to squeeze dye on the t-shirt and all over my hands Smile. When i get photos of my grandkids and daughter-in-law wearing their t-shirts I’ll post them here.

Here i am posing in my fairly-lame-attempt-at-tie-dyeing-t-shirt – i don’t think Duncan paints would hire me to demonstrate their dyeing techniques.  The instructions said to apply the dye to a dry t-shirt however online it says to do it to a damp shirt. I just might reapply the dye to a wet t-shirt.  Here i am at my happiest in my Hippie dippy outfit.

Gratitude Journals

gratitudejournals1

A couple of days ago I bought these composition books so Mr. G and I could have our own gratitude journals.  You have probably heard of this practise before?  You write down three things you are grateful for that happened that day.  Oprah is a big proponent of gratitude journals as well as numerous other self-help gurus.

At first Mr. G was resistant as he said he didn’t have time to do it before going to bed to read for over an hour Smile.  HELLO???  So after i glared at him for a while he quickly wrote down 3 things he was grateful for.  The more you are aware of what you are grateful for the more good things will show up in your life! We both have been complaining a lot about things and I felt it was time to shift the energy.

Here’s something else to be grateful for – yesterday i was interviewed by Susan Miller of Light Path Coaching.  It was a video interview – the first in a series where she features creatives on her show.  I can’t wait for the video to go live so i can share it with you here on my blog and on Facebook!

See you on Friday!
