Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! If you celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah I do hope you enjoyed spending it with family and friends.
We had a great Christmas gathering – two actually! The above photo is of our family gathering at my son and daughter-in-laws home on Christmas day (four generations!). There were 20 or so people there – what a joyful celebration. Click the above photo to see a larger version.
We also celebrated on Christmas eve with some of Mr. G’s family – his son Kevin and little grandson Leium were part of this celebration. Since we don’t have a kitchen table we had to use the living room to put up the table and folding chairs. It looked pretty festive in there! It was lovely spending time with family on Christmas eve.
Lifebook 2015 Video set up
Mr. G spoiled me as he usually does! He got me this fancy tripod and i-pad mount (from i-shot) so that i can shoot and edit my videos for Lifebook 2015 more easily. I tend to get overwhelmed with the video system on the other Canon camera i have – the i-pad is so much easier. And speaking of which in this photo i was video taping my first bonus lesson for Lifebook – it starts in just a couple of days! Yay – you can sign up here. I can’t wait to see what all of the participants come up with.
Sneak peek: Starting to apply paint to my first project!
One of the gifts Mr. G gave me was 10 Ukulele lessons with my friend Ivy who is a local music teacher! I can’t wait to start my lessons. I love the sound of the Uke – makes me so happy.
I’m off to edit the videos! Hope you are having a glorious day!

Yesterday was our last journal jam at the Good Day Sunshine Cafe and had a great turnout!
You can see Nicci in the front with her adorable son Duran. Suzanne Hoiberg behind her…….and i don’t think you can see the other ladies too clearly, Maxine, Joanne, Tracy, Debbie, granddaughter Abigal, Sue, Penny, Susan and Sharon. As you can see we had a wonderful group of people show up – their art journals were so different and so inspiring. It was fun to check out what everyone is up to, what new products they have been using and just gab, drink coffee and laugh! I highly recommend it.
My summer is pretty busy however i might just decide one day to ask a bunch of the ladies if they are up to meeting me the next day at the cafe to draw and gab. If you like to get together with a group of friends or new friends why don’t you create an Event on Facebook (that is if you do have a facebook account) and invite folks in your area. You can post it on your wall and see who comes. You might be surprised. You can also post free events on Craigslist, Kajiji, Meetup or do it the low tech way by pinning an invite on cafe and bookstore bulletin boards. There is always a way to meet other creatives and host your own art journal jam. You could also pair up with a Community focused cafe like we did and they’ll help you promote it on their facebook wall and also in store.
The folks at Surrey Doing it Right came by yesterday to shoot a video of me and my business. Thanks so much guys – i had fun! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
And speaking of videos……….
Here is the little video intro that Wendy Fedan of Create-a-Way created for me with the individual elements i gave her a while back! You can see the animation assets I sent her here. If you are anything like me you love seeing how things come together! Thanks so much to Billy Blind for creating the lovely music to Wendy’s animation! Many thanks Wendy for creating the magical intro for me and for her patience! I love how it all came together don’t you?
