Hello friends! Longtime no hear! So sorry i have not blogged for what seems like forever. You may wonder where i have been. Well we moved from the magic cottage to beautiful Sechelt. It had been one of my dreams to move to the Sunshine Coast and now finally we have. I am totally in love with it here – the nature, peace, slower pace of life, less crime …..i could go on and on. It’s been good for my soul. Mr. G has been busy building shelves, erecting a shed and doing tons of other things (with wood) in our new home!
In the meantime i have been making art, putting on a workshop here in Sechelt, making new friends and commuting back and forth to the mainland via a ferry to visit family.
So what’s new? I was interviewed by Gracie from Willowing and Friends – my first interview in a while. If you’d like to read a bit more about what i’ve been up to please go here.
I’ve created a special video just for the interview – a how to create a quirky caricature too! You’ll have a high resolution image of my art to download and the opportunity to enter to win some swag. Please watch the video and enter the contest here. Thank you so much Gracie for interviewing me and thank you Tamara for having me on your blog. I appreciate it!
I would love to know what you would like to see me blog about – just leave me a comment. Thank you so much.
Here we are in Paradise – Desolation Resort in Okeover Inlet. This is the stunning view from our deck. We immediately lined up our beverages, some brie and camembert …….
We then sat down to enjoy the beauty right before us!
The first day of paddling was fun. Unfortunately Mr. G put his back out so he won’t be doing too much kayaking. We were off on another adventure trying to locate a Chiropractor in Powell River. Thankfully we found two and managed to get Mr. G a couple of appointments . Mr. G is unable to take the kayaks off the top of the car so we are using the Resort kayaks. They are much more stable and easier to get in and out of. After breaking my wrist (i fell out of the kayak onto the rocks) 2 years ago i am a bit nervous of our narrow, tippy kayaks so using the wider more stable kayaks from the Resort suits me just fine.
Here we are in Lund waiting for the sun to go down. Don’t we look relaxed? I feel as if I’m home again! Bliss!!!
Our feet on the boardwalk waiting for the sunset .
The sun setting in Lund. So quiet and magical.
The sun setting at the resort – that’s me doing a “WOO HOO!!!” Absolutely LOVE IT HERE!!!
Before arriving at the resort we stopped by to visit some family in Sechelt – this is Jan’s stunning backyard Oasis she created herself!
We also visited Leslie and Brian – sister and brother-in-law. They live in Half Moon Bay which is another idyllic little town. Thanks for the lovely visit!
Today is a rainy day – the perfect day for another Chiro appointment and perhaps time to explore the town of Powell River.
Guess what? I haven’t even cracked open my art supplies yet – maybe today though . There is so much inspiration all around – i should have numerous subjects to focus on right?
Love, Violette xo
I’m not feeling very chatty today so I’ll leave you with some images of things, places and people i am loving these days!
Visiting with grandson’s Sam and Cillian on Sunday. Cillian is one month old and Sam is 2! This is the cousins first meeting – Sam is not sure what to think!
Looking at the beautiful pages the teens are creating during our Teen Workshops!
Watching Teens happily engaged in creating!
A house i fell in love with in Sechelt – don’t you just love the old bicycle?
The Coast of B.C. – i took this picture while coming home on the ferry from the Sunshine Coast.
Well that’s it – apart from drawing – I’m loving drawing too as always! See you tomorrow!
