Interview on Willowing’s Blog! Tea and Cake with Gracie

Hello friends!  Longtime no hear!  So sorry i have not blogged for what seems like forever.  You may wonder where i have been. Well we moved from the magic cottage to beautiful Sechelt. It had been one of my dreams to move to the Sunshine Coast and now finally we have.  I am totally in love with it here – the nature, peace, slower pace of life, less crime …..i could go on and on. It’s been good for my soul. Mr. G has been busy building shelves, erecting a shed and doing tons of other things (with wood) in our new home!

In the meantime i have been making art, putting on a workshop here in Sechelt, making new friends and commuting back and forth to the mainland via a ferry to visit family.

So what’s new?  I was interviewed by Gracie from Willowing and Friends – my first interview in a while.  If you’d like to read a bit more about what i’ve been up to please go here.

Please watch the video and enter the contest here.  Thank you so much Gracie for interviewing me and thank you Tamara for having me on your blog. I appreciate it!

I would love to know what you would like to see me blog about – just leave me a comment.  Thank you so much.

Studio clean up, a bit of this and that

The studio clean-up continues ……

I have trouble doing things like this on my own – i can’t maintain a level of enthusiasm by myself.  It helps if i have someone with me cheering me on.  I tend to welcome any distraction like the other day my Mom and Stepdad dropped by and we went out for lunch – rather than return to cleaning i got onto other chores.  The biggest problem is that i have amassed a ton of supplies with no room for everything – i do need to purge but don’t have the time right now.  I am babysitting my grandbaby Cillian this afternoon.

The supplies i use for my workshops don’t have a home so they will simply have to be piled up in a corner during the Art Party on Saturday. Smile

If you haven’t entered the May Contest giveaway go here.

Over at Creativity Portal they have a 20 Question Interview you can take part in – it’s all about your creative life.

Chris Dunmire has a review of Pattie Mosca’s Permission Slips book and how it has helped some of her clients and friends.  While you are over at Creativity Portal check out Pattie’s interview here.

Thank you for all of the great ideas on future videos. Judging from your comments i can tell that many of you would like to see videos of me drawing faces!  In the meantime i thought you would enjoy this video of Tam – (Willowing) creating a face in 20 minutes. It’s a lovely painterly face.  Tam demonstrates that it truly doesn’t take long to add a bit of creativity to your life! Enjoy! Do check out Willowing’s gorgeous May Calendar.

A Colourful Backyard

I might need to freshen up the paint on my bike – maybe make a seat cover in a bright colour?

A view of the deck through the hanging hula hoops!

The deck is looking a wee bit more presentable now!

A grouping of flower pots.  The elephant flower pot holds a special place in my heart.  Mr. G gave it to me when i was writing and illustrating my book Journal Bliss when i was totally overwhelmed.  When i asked him frantically what should i do he told me to do one thing at a time.  I drew the elephant cartoon in my book and asked the question “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” This advice works for anything that is daunting you!

Isn’t he the cutest?

Mr. G and i spent a couple of days sprucing up the backyard with flowers, adding a fresh coat of paint to some garden furniture and shelving.  Then we had my Mom and Stepdad over to celebrate by having a lovely dinner on the deck!  The sun was out and we felt very blessed! Smile

I was kind of off making art but then creating a magical garden is pretty creative isn’t it?  It all falls under the category of creative living in my mind! If you surround yourself with beauty and things that inspire you your creativity will soar!
