Happy Wednesday everyone! I don’t really have much to report or share right now apart from a couple of pictures i created in my planner. Here’s one sketch on a page called Savour – if you savour the goodness in your life you are apt to get more of it. It’s something to focus on. Speaking of which I am reading a great book on Happiness (and savouring) called Hardwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson. I highly recommend it if you are always trying to catch the elusive happiness or at least bringing more of it into your life. I think my default setting is on negative (like most people Rick Hanson will argue) so I need to make a conscious effort to pay attention to the happy moments and dwell on them longer.
Here’s another little drawing i did which attaches to my diary/planner……..it’s a reminder as well. I just want to say how much fun i’m having keeping a planner in this way – it’s like i can store my thoughts and dreams as well as appointments all in one spot! I hope i keep it up.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Now it’s back to reality again. Like many people I have difficulty transitioning from the magic of Christmas to the mundane New Year. It’s always good to focus on what you are grateful for rather than on what you no longer have or what’s in the past. A planner or notebook is a good way to write down what you are grateful for. Every year I buy a new planner and every year after one or two months of writing in it i abandon it. So this year I’m trying something different.
Suzi Blu started a group (it’s closed now i believe) on Facebook called “Paint and Chronicle” which is a place where you can follow along with her as she creates a unique all in one planner – Suzi style. It’s got the month and the days in it but it also encompasses gratitude and journaling, art and more. I think I’ve been looking for something like this to keep me honest.
I’ve got lists, ideas, gratitude etc. written in a number of different places and am continually losing them and buying new books and starting anew. So i’m pretty excited to begin this one as a catch all for all the important stuff. The above book is created in a moleskin grid book. I collaged a front cover and protected it with a layer of packing tape. I wanted to make sure it was pretty enough for me to want to use it :).
I think if i allow myself to be real, messy and not worry about creating perfect art then this is something i can keep up with.
What kind of planner journal do you use for the important stuff throughout the year?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! If you celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah I do hope you enjoyed spending it with family and friends.
We had a great Christmas gathering – two actually! The above photo is of our family gathering at my son and daughter-in-laws home on Christmas day (four generations!). There were 20 or so people there – what a joyful celebration. Click the above photo to see a larger version.
We also celebrated on Christmas eve with some of Mr. G’s family – his son Kevin and little grandson Leium were part of this celebration. Since we don’t have a kitchen table we had to use the living room to put up the table and folding chairs. It looked pretty festive in there! It was lovely spending time with family on Christmas eve.
Lifebook 2015 Video set up
Mr. G spoiled me as he usually does! He got me this fancy tripod and i-pad mount (from i-shot) so that i can shoot and edit my videos for Lifebook 2015 more easily. I tend to get overwhelmed with the video system on the other Canon camera i have – the i-pad is so much easier. And speaking of which in this photo i was video taping my first bonus lesson for Lifebook – it starts in just a couple of days! Yay – you can sign up here. I can’t wait to see what all of the participants come up with.
Sneak peek: Starting to apply paint to my first project!
One of the gifts Mr. G gave me was 10 Ukulele lessons with my friend Ivy who is a local music teacher! I can’t wait to start my lessons. I love the sound of the Uke – makes me so happy.
I’m off to edit the videos! Hope you are having a glorious day!

Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you all! Like most people I have been busy getting ready for Christmas so there has not been too much drawing happening here. I did squeeze in a bit of time to create this tiny buddha gift card. Materials used? copic markers, micron pens, pencil crayons, washi tape, old book pages and folkart paint.
Images of Christmas
This tiny unicorn insisted on coming home with me while i was out and about Christmas shopping. Isn’t he the sweetest? He’s going to sit on my altar and inspire me to create, be magical and believe in my dreams!
I tried taking a selfie on Instagram – i kind of like this filter (Mayfair) and the magical quality you can achieve from it. The Moroccan Mosaic Mirror provides extra sparkle as the light bounces off of it.
The Virgin Mary of Guadalope (by Jose Ventura) finds a home nestled in the small Christmas tree.
The tiny sparkly pink Christmas tree i purchased as a display for my table at my networking event sits atop the fridge in the kitchen.
This is what it looked it when i had it decked out with my inspiration cards.
Yesterday i spent several hours with a teenage friend Talia (some of you know that i mentored her several years ago) cleaning up the office which had gotten unwieldy. Unbeknownst to us we were cleaning at the perfect time – when the Winter Solstice was in full swing. It’s a time of new beginnings and fresh starts! I’m so thrilled with the results! Thank you Talia!
If you still need some free Christmas gift cards – please go here to download three different kinds!
Wishing you and yours a most magical holiday Season. I want to thank you so much for being a part of my life all these years. I so appreciate you visiting and commenting on my blog or even just sharing your energy by taking a peek!
Lots of love to you and yours!
I’ll be back on Monday Dec. 29th!
Wow – I can’t believe it – soon Christmas will be upon us. I’m not quite ready yet – I have several gifts to get. How about you? A good friend gave me this lovely Christmas arrangement which i thought looked smashing on my painted coffee table! I took a photo and posted it on Instagram. Which reminds me – if you are on instragram come and follow me. If you are following me and i haven’t followed you back (because i’m still trying to figure out how it works) please let me know!
LIFEBOOK 2015 Starts in 2 weeks!
This Christmas I am not wanting for too much apart from books (which i love) – artsy, spiritual and personal growth books are always on my list! What is most important to me are experiences……….especially creative experiences. I’m asking for Ukulele lessons (you may recall I tried a couple of years ago to learn how to play and ended up quitting but this time i’d like to be serious about it. My Uke sits in a basket staring at me and imploring me to learn to play!). I also like the gift of online courses. At my age – 60 – there is not too much I need as I’ve amassed so much – as I’m sure you have as well.Taking classes and learning from other creatives always gets my mojo going!
And speaking of which – there are just 2 weeks left before LIFEBOOK 2015 starts up! It’s going to be an Art Journaling extravaganza! What better gift to give to yourself or to a loved one – the gift of creativity!! I can’t think of anything better. LIFEBOOK 2015 is going to be awesome! With more than 2 dozen artists teaching a couple of classes each (i’m one of them! Yay!) your year will be full of joyful creativity and self-discovery.
I can’t wait to begin – in fact I’ll be shooting my first class this week so I’m super duper excited! So if you or your loved one are stumped for what to ask for consider the gift of this amazing year long workshop series. At the end of it all you’ll have a fab book of your adventures.
People are talking about the community that forms around LIFEBOOK and how encouraging the teachers and participants are. For many people this is the cherry on top! I hope you’ll join us!
