Hello friends, As you know I have been art journaling for over 14 years. It’s been a saving grace for me – my journal (pages) have been a place for me to land when I’m going through stuff but also a place to document my joys and loves. It’s also a way for me to use humour to get me through some trying times…….like this one……
When i was diagnosed with hearing loss…..or this….
When i was going through a very difficult period in my life.
Or when i was having difficulties asking for money for a mojo session (just assumed my acquaintance knew what i charged) and ended up getting kale instead of money!
Sometimes I get a bit bored of regular journal pages so it’s fun to kick things up a notch or two by adding new techniques. So I’m pretty thrilled to be able to show you some new techniques – Flip Flop and Fly is the project I am sharing in the 21 Secrets Tools and Techniques online workshop at the beginning of April. Watch the short video trailer below I just created:
I’m excited to be able to give away one spot in the workshop. If you’d like to enter to win a spot please leave me a comment below letting me know what your favourite technique is for your art journaling and mixed media projects. I’ll be drawing a name next Wednesday March 30th at 9 am PST. Good Luck and thanks for entering! Please tell your friends.
Yesterday and the day before I had fun creating this mixed media page for an upcoming live workshop….
I had been spending so much time working on marketing, reading and networking that I had gotten away from simply drawing and painting. You wouldn’t believe how much fun I had!
This is what i came up with! The workshop “Get your mojo going: Embrace your Passion in 2014” will be happening at the end of January at a White Rock location. I’ll be co-facilitating the all day workshop with my talented friend Susan Keeping. She has numerous years under her belt facilitating women’s personal growth workshops. This is going to be a blast!
Rather than write the words directly on the piece i drew them separately so i could use the Journal Page for multiple uses. I added the words to the page in Photoshop. The page will be used as a front cover of the workbook all of the participants will be receiving. Of course the workshop will be interactive with pens, pencils, mind mapping, collaging etc. Should be a blast!
A question I often hear is how do i find out what my passion is or how do i embrace my passion? This workshop will be about that and through fun creative exercises we will be excavating your passion along with coming up with the next steps to embracing it! How fun is that?
On Friday I’ll be having another contest – i hope you’ll come back and enter to win some fun goodies! See you then!
Tracy is working on a handbook which all of the lucky participants will receive! This is a sneak peek!
I was very inspired by Jenny Holiday’s blogpost called Art Journaling with Jenny and Aaron: Getting Started. I love Jenny’s whimsical style of art journaling and hope you do too. She’s creating an art journaling series every Thursday I’m sure you won’t want to miss! Thank you Jenny for your generosity!
I’m off to a bunch of meetings today but wanted to leave you with this workshop poster. I’m co-facilitating a workshop called “Plant your Dreams: Creating your Life Vision Board” on July 9th with Michelle and would love to see you there! It is being held in Langley B.C. Michelle has facilitated Law of Attraction and Dream board workshops before – we decided that it would be such fun to teach this workshop together since we are both on the same page! We both love merging art and spirituality.
